Preparation for treatment — wasps
For a wasp nest, prep is quick but critical for safety.
To do before we arrive
Preparation checklist
- 1
Precisely locate the nest and tell us when we arrive — major time saver.
- 2
Keep doors and windows closed in the nest zone during treatment.
- 3
Keep kids and pets inside for 4 hours after treatment.
- 4
Do NOT approach the nest in the hours before — even without touching, your presence can activate colony defense.
- 5
If you are allergic, tell us by phone and stay away regardless — let us handle it.
- 6
For nests in a wall or roof: avoid using that room or running fans/vacuums for 24 hours after.
- 7
Do NOT spray over-the-counter insecticide on the nest — you risk triggering a mass attack without killing the colony.
After treatment
What to expect
A few wasps may return for 24-48 hours (foragers absent during treatment). Without a nest, they disappear in 2-3 days. The zone is safe for kids and pets after 24 hours.
