Preparation for treatment — ants
Preparing your interior before the technician arrives makes the treatment more effective and faster. Plan 30 to 45 minutes of prep.
To do before we arrive
Preparation checklist
- 1
Clear 30 cm of space along baseboards in every room where you've seen ants (move furniture, low shelves, baskets).
- 2
Empty kitchen cabinets under the sink or near an activity point — remove containers and wipe surfaces.
- 3
Identify and note the exact spots where you've seen ants or sawdust: phone photos help.
- 4
Identify known moisture sources (leak, visible damp wood) and tell us when we arrive.
- 5
Close food containers left on counters (cereal, sugar, cookies) — keeps baits from competing with other sources.
- 6
Keep kids and pets out of treated areas during application (typically 30-60 minutes).
- 7
Do NOT spray over-the-counter insecticide in the days before — it scatters the colony and complicates treatment.
- 8
Have clear access to basement, attic and exterior foundation if possible.
After treatment
What to expect
You will likely see MORE ants in the 3 to 7 days after — this is normal and a good sign: they carry the bait to the queen. Don't clean treated zones for 14 days. Activity returns to normal after 14 days. A 30-day follow-up can be scheduled on request to confirm elimination.
